I'm a wife and mother, typing for a living in middle Tennessee. When I get a few minutes (or steal them) I pursue my loves... walking or riding in the woods, spending time with my family, and ever free minute, making chainmaille, wire wrapped, and bead-woven items.
MY JEWELRY SKILLS
Chainmaille, wire wrapping, peyote.
DESIRED TECHNIQUES
Micro-macrame, more metalsmithing.
GENERAL INTERESTS
Crafting, calligraphy, polymer clay, Renaissance, dancing, horseback riding, my many pets, Celtic music, photography, hiking, playing on or in the water, reading, board and computer games, history, heraldry, and more.
Deanna you are so welcome. Your Wire work is gorgeous and your Chainmaille is out of this world!!! Thank you also for your lovely comments. I appreciate the encouragement
About the viking chain videos: YES! The allen wrench is so much easier than a dowel because there's a little "space" to pass the wire through (you'll see what I mean when you try it). I love that method.
I only wish the person who made those videos had posted the third one on how to finish the chain. He offers it for sale on his website, but it's really expensive, so I had to figure it out on my own.
Maybe some day I'll get around to making one of my own and posting it for everyone to use for free!
Hi there, I saw your comments about the videos. I'm not the owner of the video, I just linked it here on JG. I wish they were clearer too! If I find better ones I'll replace the ones I have linked...feel free to do the same. We can always use better videos to learn new techniques or brush up on old ones!
Hey Cheryl! :) Ya, I still ride.. I moved to rural Tennessee so I'm hoping for a horse one of these days but for now a dear lady invites me on the beautiful trails near her home. Didn't get to ride for years and years, and it's good to be back in the saddle.
I'm friending you... we have too much in common for me not to (teenage kids... small menageries... jewelry...). Hope to get to know you better :)
Excellent! Did you do anything fun/special for Labor Day weekend?
I've got 7 boys - we're hosting Tigres a soccer team from Monterrey for tourny this weekend. - 4 of them, my 2 sons, and most importantly, a player from my sons' team who speaks Spanish. Whew, I'm pooped and NO time for jewelry!! They leave in a couple hrs. cheryl
